Founded in 2017 from a single community kitchen in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, Shri Annapurna Life Foundation has grown into one of India's most trusted grassroots hunger-relief movements.
Why we exist
In Annapurna's tradition, no bowl ever goes empty. We carry that promise into every street.
India grows enough food to feed everyone - yet one in five of us goes to bed hungry. We don't accept that gap as inevitable. Since 2017 we've built a transparent, community-led engine that turns surplus into sustenance, neighbours into partners, and charity into common cause.

Where it all began
A single kitchen in Bareilly. A single pot. A few helping hands. And a promise that continues to guide everything we do: "Humara ek hi lakshay — koi bhuka na rahe."
What began as a humble effort to feed those in need became a lifelong commitment to serve with dignity and compassion.

बरेली में एक अकेली रसोई। एक अकेला बर्तन। कुछ मददगार हाथ। और एक वादा जो आज भी हमारे हर काम का मार्गदर्शन करता है: "हमारा एक ही लक्ष्य — कोई भूखा न रहे।"
जरूरतमंदों को खाना खिलाने की एक साधारण कोशिश एक जीवनभर की प्रतिबद्धता बन गई — गरिमा और करुणा के साथ सेवा करने की।

When the world stood still, we stepped forward
The pandemic changed everything. For countless families, even a daily meal became uncertain.
We responded by providing free, sanitized and hygienic meals, fruits, ration and financial assistance to people facing hardship — standing beside communities when they needed support the most.

महामारी ने सब कुछ बदल दिया। अनगिनत परिवारों के लिए रोज़ का एक भोजन भी अनिश्चित हो गया।
हमने मुफ़्त, स्वच्छ और स्वास्थ्यकर भोजन, फल, राशन और आर्थिक सहायता देकर जवाब दिया — जब समुदायों को सबसे ज़्यादा सहारे की ज़रूरत थी, हम उनके साथ खड़े रहे।

More than a meal
We learned that serving people isn't only about putting food on a plate.
With the support of our donors, we helped nearly 50 underprivileged couples arrange their marriages and begin a new chapter of their lives with dignity, hope and happiness. Our purpose was growing — from feeding people to helping them build better lives.

हमने सीखा कि लोगों की सेवा करना सिर्फ़ थाली में खाना देने तक सीमित नहीं है।
अपने दानदाताओं के सहयोग से, हमने लगभग 50 ज़रूरतमंद जोड़ों की शादी करवाने में मदद की, ताकि वे गरिमा, आशा और खुशी के साथ जीवन का एक नया अध्याय शुरू कर सकें। हमारा उद्देश्य बढ़ रहा था — भोजन खिलाने से लेकर बेहतर जीवन बनाने में मदद करने तक।

We reached 50 lakh free meals served — made possible by the faith of our donors, the dedication of our volunteers and the belief that no act of kindness is ever too small. One meal at a time, the promise kept moving forward.

एक पड़ाव जो संख्या में मापा गया, पर अनगिनत पलों में महसूस किया गया।
हमने 50 लाख मुफ़्त भोजन परोसने का आंकड़ा छुआ — यह हमारे दानदाताओं के विश्वास, स्वयंसेवकों के समर्पण और इस विश्वास से संभव हुआ कि दया का कोई भी कार्य कभी छोटा नहीं होता। एक-एक भोजन के साथ, यह वादा आगे बढ़ता रहा।

The next chapter begins
For years, our work has been rooted in a single kitchen in Bareilly. Now, we're ready to take that mission beyond it.
We are expanding into new cities and new areas of impact — with initiatives focused on women empowerment, skill development and primary education, while continuing our fight against hunger.
Because the vision was never limited to feeding a few. It has always been about building a society where everyone has the opportunity to live with dignity.
The mission remains the same. The journey is only getting bigger. "Humara ek hi lakshay — koi bhuka na rahe."

अगला अध्याय शुरू होता है
वर्षों से, हमारा काम बरेली की एक रसोई में जड़ें जमाए हुए था। अब, हम उस मिशन को उससे आगे ले जाने के लिए तैयार हैं।
हम नए शहरों और नए क्षेत्रों में विस्तार कर रहे हैं — महिला सशक्तिकरण, कौशल विकास और प्राथमिक शिक्षा पर केंद्रित पहलों के साथ, भूख के खिलाफ़ अपनी लड़ाई जारी रखते हुए।
क्योंकि यह सपना कभी भी कुछ लोगों को खाना खिलाने तक सीमित नहीं था। यह हमेशा से एक ऐसे समाज के निर्माण के बारे में रहा है जहाँ हर किसी को गरिमा के साथ जीने का अवसर मिले।
मिशन वही है। यात्रा और बड़ी होती जा रही है। "हमारा एक ही लक्ष्य — कोई भूखा न रहे।"
